Kohlbecker, Robusto, Schweid Sweep Podium at Sonoma

After sweeping the Continental Tire Pole Award and race win on Saturday, Spike Kohlbecker backed it up with another strong qualifying effort Sunday morning, leading the field to green in the weekend finale at Sonoma Raceway. Kohlbecker lined up alongside Will Robusto as the green flag dropped on the 45-minute race.

An early incident involving the No. 93 of Patrick Brunson was followed by additional trouble for Massimo Sunseri, whose No. 51 BSI Racing machine came to a stop on the frontstretch, bringing out a full course caution. Racing resumed with 30 minutes remaining as Kohlbecker began to pull away from the field.

Following their podium finishes in Race 1, RVA Graphics Motorsports teammates Robusto and Max Schweid once again ran up front, fending off Garrett Manes while Jenson Sofronas and Ethan Goulart battled just behind for a spot inside the top five.

At the checkered flag, Kohlbecker had stretched his advantage to over seven seconds, securing his third win of the season through four races. Robusto, Schweid, and Manes held position in second through fourth, while Sofronas recorded his best career GR Cup finish in fifth. Goulart, Ethan Ayars, Beltre Curtis, Parker DeLong, and Joseph Maley completed the top 10.

Podium

Kohlbecker’s victory moved him into sole possession of second place on the all-time GR Cup podiums list with 23, now just one shy of Westin Workman for the top spot. Robusto’s runner-up finish marked his eighth career podium, while Schweid secured his fourth.

WWEX Group Legends Cup

Dream Racing @ Eagles Canyon driver Livio Galanti topped the WWEX Group Legends Cup podium for the seventh time in his career, holding off three-time Legends Cup winner Patrick Brunson and Alcyr Araujo.
