The Toyota GR Cup Series returns to action this weekend in Nashville, Tenn. for the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix, Aug. 4-6. The GR Cup Series will join the INDYCAR Series, TransAm Series, and SRO GT America for an action-packed weekend.

What to Expect

The 2.17-mile, 11-turn street course wraps down by Nissan Stadium and crosses the Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge, steps away from the entertainment district in downtown Nashville. 31 drivers are slated to take on the first ever street course race in the GR Cup Series.

Two practice sessions on Friday, August 4 will get the on-track action started for the weekend. Saturday, August 5 will feature qualifying for Race 1 at 12:30 PM CT and a sunset showdown for the first race of the weekend at 8:15 PM CT.

Different from other GR Cup Series events, fastest lap times from Race 1 will set the lineup for Race 2 on Sunday that is set to go green at 4:35 PM CT. Each race is a timed event and lasts 45 minutes from the green flag to checkered flag.

Both races will be streamed live on grcup.com and the GT World YouTube page. Fans can also catch all the action by Joining Ash Vandelay on Twitch by following the SRO Motorsports channel. Vandelay hosts six-hour programs on Saturday and Sunday, where she is joined by drivers to chat with fans and providing insight into that day’s races.

Autographs / Hospitality

NASCAR Cup Series champion, Kurt Busch, will host a meet and greet from 1-2 PM CT on Saturday, August 5 outside of the Toyota hospitality space within the fan zone. Fans will also have the opportunity to meet the drivers of the GR Cup Series at the autograph session taking place on the concourse of Nissan Stadium, Saturday August 5 at 4:15 PM CT.

Before the racing action kicks off, there will be a block party in downtown Nashville from 5-8 PM CT where fan are encouraged to come out and see cars from each series competing throughout the weekend.
