BSI Racing Brings New Faces to Sonoma for GR Cup Opener

BSI Racing returns to Sonoma Raceway for its third season in the Toyota GR Cup with testing to begin on Thursday, March 27th.

BSI brings fresh faces under the tent this season. After a successful rookie season, 2024 Rookie of the Year and Toyota Racing Development Driver Westin Workman makes the move to BSI Racing for the 2025 season.

Workman, already with a tremendous relationship with the team on the Mazda MX-5 Cup side of things, begins the season as a driver to watch, with championship aspirations. Workman finished third in the championship a year ago, only behind Spike Kohlbecker, who finished second, and series champion, Gresham Wagner.

With Wagner moving on, Westin Workman finds himself as a fan-favorite in a crowded field, deep with talent.

Workman is not the only new face under the BSI tent. 16-year-old rookie, Massimo Sunseri will make his GR Cup and pro-racing debut at Sonoma Raceway. Sunseri comes to BSI with karting and open-wheel experience but has embraced the challenge of spec-series racing in the sports car world.

Both Sunseri and Workman have put many hours of seat time in the GR86 over the past few months, doing extensive testing in preparation for this season.

Lastly, but certainly not to be overshadowed, BSI Racing Team Owner Shea Holbrook returns to the car for the first time since 2021. Holbrook is an accomplished driver, competing in Pirelli World Challenge (now GT World Challenge) and Lamborghini Super Trofeo, earning multiple wins, accolades and recognition.

Holbrook will be piloting the Mom Life livery, a lifestyle brand dedicated to mom’s that do it all. As a team owner, entrepreneur, brand ambassador, driver, and mother- Shea Holbrook wears many hats.

“This season in GR Cup is big for us on so many levels,” said Holbrook.

“We’re continuing our mission of developing talent with the addition of Massimo. We have a legitimate shot at a championship for Westin Workman. For me, getting the opportunity to hop back in the seat and represent our brand at BSI, as well as promote Mom Life, something near and dear to me; I just really couldn’t be more excited for this year in GR Cup.”

“Big thanks to TRD (Toyota Racing Development) and the series for their support and guidance. We want to put on a good show for everyone involved this season.”
