Max Schweid Added to TechSport Racing Lineup in 2025

Max Schweid, an 18-year-old Asian American rising talent, is moving up from the Spec Miata ranks and chose the GR Cup series and TechSport Racing as his next step up to the professional ranks.

Max is an honor student from Boca Raton Florida and between homework, leading a robotics team and college prep, he has carved out a name for himself in racing. Starting at age 8, he battled his way up the ranks in regional and national karting. He entered the Spec Miata class at the age of 15 and quickly started winning races and earned the vice-champion spot in the NASA Florida region. At 16 he won the competitive SARRC Championship and repeated as vice-champion of the NASA Florida region. He’s also raced Spec Miata and Spec MX-5 in numerous SCCA Majors, Hoosier SuperTour events as well as the SCCA Runoffs.

His love of cars and racing began at an early age, even though he doesn’t come from a racing family. “We have no idea where that racing gene came from,” his father Ian said. “But like all parents, once we saw he was committed to the sport, we did what we could to support that passion.”

“I’m super excited to compete in Toyota GR Cup for the 2025 season with TechSport Racing,” says Max. “I want to thank them and all my sponsors and supporters for giving me the opportunity to join the GR Cup paddock”.

With this move, Max will make his professional debut at the historic Sonoma Raceway in March. Kevin Anderson, Owner of TechSport Racing says “We’ve seen Max drive and think he has a lot of potential. We’re excited to have him join our team and make a run for some podiums and race wins this coming season”.
