TechSport Racing returns to GR Cup with a talent packed lineup for the 2025 season. Boasting a young and experience deep roster, TechSport is on the hunt to win a second Team Championship in the three year old series. Owner Kevin Anderson states “We won the inaugural Team Championship in 2023 and took second last year. My goal is to return to the top and secure that trophy.” TechSport’s 2025 lineup include returning teammates Christian Weir, Ayden Kirk and Ethan Goulart. They are joined this year by Max Schweid.
Ethan Goulart started racing go-karts at the age of 4. He is the 4th generation in his family to pursue racing. At the age of 13, Ethan transitioned to cars and adapted very quickly. In 2024, he made his debut in the GR Cup at VIR, securing a Top 5 result. Most recently, Ethan became the youngest ever SCCA National Champion and pole sitter in the Spec Miata class. Heading into 2025, Ethan aims to compete for a GR Cup title.
TechSport Racing is thrilled to welcome Ayden Kirk back to their GR Cup lineup. Last season, he showcased his remarkable determination by starting near the back of the grid in 24th place and consistently charging forward to secure top 15 finishes. That relentless drive earned him the respect of both teammates and fans, who eagerly anticipate his continued ascent this year. With his eyes on early podium finishes, Ayden is poised to make an even bigger impact on the track this season.
Christian Weir on joining TechSport Racing for a full season, “I’m looking forward to having a full season with TechSport in the Toyota GR Cup. I learned a lot in the two short weekends last year and my hopes for 2025 are high. Grabbing pole and a podium at Road America in my second weekend in the car was a highlight of 2024. I am relying on all the experience I obtained during my time open-wheel racing, to help me be successful in a sportscar. I am proud to be part of the TechSport Team and am very confident in their ability to give me a fast car every time I get behind the wheel. I am excited for some fun and sophisticated racing this season.”
Max Schweid, an 18-year-old Asian American rising talent, is moving up from the Spec Miata ranks to the Toyota GR Cup series. Max is an honor student from Boca Raton Florida who started kart racing at age 8. He entered the Spec Miata class at the age of 15 and quickly started winning races and earned the vice-champion spot in the NASA Florida region. At 16, Max won the competitive SARRC Championship and repeated as vice-champion of the NASA Florida region. He’s also raced Spec Miata and Spec MX-5 in numerous SCCA Majors, Hoosier SuperTour events as well as the SCCA Runoffs.
“I’m super excited to compete in Toyota GR Cup for the 2025 season with TechSport Racing.” says Max. “I want to thank them and all my sponsors and supporters for giving me the opportunity to join the GR Cup paddock”.
TechSport Racing will run four GR Cup cars in the Toyota GR Cup Series, one McLaren in the McLaren Trophy Series in SRO and three Mustang Darkhorse in the Mustang Challenge Series in IMSA for the 2025 season.
