Toyota GAZOO Racing North America Finalizes 2026 GR Cup Series Schedule

Toyota GAZOO Racing North America (TGRNA) today announces Road Atlanta and Road America as the final additions to the 2026 GR Cup Series calendar, as well as the expansion of the WWEX Group Legends Cup for its second season.

The 2026 season will mark the fourth year of the GR Cup Series in partnership with SRO America, featuring 14 races across seven event weekends with drivers competing in identical Toyota GR86 race cars for $1 million in purse and prize money. New to the schedule for 2026, the GR Cup Series will compete at Road Atlanta June 12–14, 2026. The 2.54-mile Georgia road course, known for its elevation changes and technical layout, will bring fans exciting racing action. Road America (August 28–30) remains a cornerstone of the GR Cup schedule, continuing its tradition as a fan and driver favorite with its high-speed layout and iconic setting in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

“Adding a circuit like Road Atlanta, while continuing our tradition at places like Road America, shows just how far the GR Cup Series has come in such a short time,” said Mike Norem, manager, Customer Racing, TRD U.S.A. (Toyota Racing Development). “We’re building a calendar that challenges our drivers, excites our fans and proves this championship belongs at some of the best race tracks in the country.”

TGRNA also confirms the return and expansion of the WWEX Group Legends Cup – a dedicated class within the GR Cup Series for drivers aged 45 and older. Growing from six races to 10 in 2026, the Legends Cup will be contested at five GR Cup weekends: Grand Prix of Arlington, Sonoma Raceway, Circuit of The Americas, Road America and Barber Motorsports Park. While racing within the overall GR Cup field, Legends Cup competitors vie for class honors, with the top three recognized on a dedicated Legends Cup podium at each event. New for 2026, drivers may drop their two lowest scoring races. The highest cumulative total from their best eight results will determine the 2026 WWEX Group Legends Cup Champion.

“The Legends Cup has quickly become a standout part of GR Cup weekends, and we’re proud to continue our partnership with Toyota to support this exciting program,” said Mike Grayson, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at WWEX Group. “It gives passionate, experienced drivers a world-class environment to race, and fans love the energy these competitors bring to the paddock.”
