The Toyota Gazoo Racing North America (TGRNA) GR Cup Series returns to action this weekend at the historic VIRginia International Raceway (VIR). Drivers will be met with a challenging 3.27-mile, 17-turn road course where the course configuration has remained unchanged since 1957.

What to Expect

32 drivers are set to compete at VIR, including seven new faces making their GR Cup debut. Those making their GR Cup debut include Ethan Goulart (TechSport Racing), Zachary Hollingshead (Copeland Motorsports), Anna Isotsume (Hattori Motorsports), Jenson Sofronas (GMG Racing), Ethan Tovo (Nitro Motorsports), Jackson Tovo (Nitro Motorsports), and Christian Weir (TechSport Racing).

With six races down and eight to go in the 2024 season, Copeland Motorsports driver Gresham Wagner leads the drivers point standings with 135 points over teammates Westin Workman (105) and Jaxon Bell (90). Spike Kohlbecker (77) and Lucas Weisenberg (69) round out the Top-5 in the standings.

Following two test sessions on Thursday, teams will have two more opportunities to fine tune their GR86 Cup cars on Friday with practice sessions ahead of the weekend. Saturdays on track activity will get started with Race 1 qualifying before the drop of the green flag at 1:55 PM ET. The weekend will conclude at VIR on Sunday with an early morning qualifying session and Race 2 set to go green at 12:15 PM ET.

Both races are streamed live on grcup.com and the GT World YouTube page. Fans can also catch all the racing action by joining Ash Vandelay on Twitch by following the SRO Motorsports channel. Vandelay hosts six-hour programs on Saturday and Sunday, where she is joined by drivers to chat with fans and provides insights into that day’s races.

Autograph Session

Fans will have the opportunity to meet all GR Cup drivers on Sunday, July 21 during a 30-minute autograph session hosted in The Pavilion, located right outside of the GR Cup paddock. The autograph session will take place from 10:30 AM – 11 AM ET with event weekend posters available to sign.

  • Children 12 and under are free with the purchase of an adult ticket.
