The Toyota Gazoo Racing North America (TGRNA) GR Cup Series heads to the heart of Texas for the fifth and sixth rounds of the 2024 season at Circuit of the Americas (COTA). Just on the outskirts of Austin, Texas, the circuit serves a premier destination for drivers, teams, and fans. 29 drivers are slated to take on the 3.426 mile, 20-turn road course including Austin Dodge (RVA Graphics Motorsports), Ramon Llanos (Eagles Canyon Racing), Ayden Kirk (TechSport Racing), Miki Onaga (Hattori Motorsports), and Andrew Gilleland (Eagles Canyon Racing) making their season debut.

After the first four races of the season, Gresham Wagner of Copeland Motorsports sits atop the driver standings with 100 points as his teammate Westin Workman currently holds the second position with 72 points. A three-way battle for the third spot in the standings is heating up between Jaxon Bell (Copeland Motorsports) with 50 points while Spike Kohlbecker (TechSport Racing) and Lucas Weisenberg (Lucas Racing) are tied with 49 points apiece.

What to Expect

Friday, May 17 will kick off on-track activity as two practice sessions are set for teams and drivers to get a feel for the track and get their GR86 Cup Cars dialed in for the weekend. The weekend is highlighted by two 45-minute races with non-stop racing action throughout. Race 1 will take place on Saturday at 2:25 PM CT, while Sunday’s race will cap of the weekend for GR Cup competitors at 11:35 AM CT.

Both races are streamed live on grcup.com and the GT World YouTube page. Fans can also catch all the racing action by joining Ash Vandelay on Twitch by following the SRO Motorsports channel. Vandelay hosts six-hour programs on Saturday and Sunday, where she is joined by drivers to chat with fans and provide insights into that day’s races.

Autograph Session / Guest Appearances

Faye Hadley, also known as ‘Pistons and Pixie Dust’ on social media, will be attending COTA with the Toyota GR Cup Series this weekend. Faye is an ASE Master Certified Automotive Technician, Co-Host of MotorTrend’s All Girls Garage, and dedicated Toyota GR Supra Enthusiast with more than a decade of experience in the automotive industry. She will be hosting an appearance at the Toyota hospitality tent from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM CT on Saturday, May 18.

Fans will have an opportunity to meet all the GR Cup Series drivers on Sunday, May 19 during a 30-minute autograph session hosted in the lobby of the media center at COTA. The autograph session will take place from 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM CT with event posters available to sign.
